The Polish film became one of the most watched productions in the world, and the erotica based on Blanka Lipińska’s prose began to be written about by foreign media. When most multiplexes stopped operating due to the pandemic, the film rights to the next two books by Blanka Lipińska were taken over by Netflix. It was on this platform that the premiere of subsequent productions took place, in which the parents of Laura Biel, the main character, were already played by Ewa Kasprzyk and Dariusz Jakubowski. Why did they replace Stockinger and Szapołowska in “365 days”?
At the very beginning, Tomasz Stockinger strongly denied that he regretted his participation in the high-profile production, which was probably the first Polish film to win the American Golden Raspberry Award for the worst screenplay. – It’s a misinterpretation that I’m sorry. Well, no, I don’t regret it. I took part in it, I saw what it looks like. The role was very episodic. Then there were talks about the second and third films (…) and there was a problem with the dates – he noted.
He then explained:
It was a problem to coordinate these dates with the schedule of the film, the schedule of Grażyna Szapołowska. I was simply put in a situation where if I were to play the main character’s father, it would be with another actress. Plus some other inconsistencies. It got to the point that the production itself decided that another couple should play in this situation. and OK.
What do you think about the movie itself? – No, I will not speak. Some people like it, some people like it, and some people don’t like it. I think that eroticism, good eroticism, is a great art. This film lacks a lot to be the first beautiful Polish erotica. We all still have a lot to develop in this area – he remarked quite diplomatically.
