was born on June 8, 1951 in Kraków. However, her childhood was far from a carefree idyll. After her father fell ill with depression and lost himself in alcoholism, and her mother fell ill with tuberculosis, she ended up in an orphanage run by nuns. She spent five years there, suffering many injustices and humiliations. Later, she returned to her family home, but due to the bad situation, she wandered around more often to find relatives.

Difficult experiences, however, did not prevent her from realizing her dreams. She started her career in the mid-1960s, joining the amateur band Bazyliszki and playing the flute during Osjan concerts. The greatest popularity, however, brought her , of which she was the main vocalist and leader from 1976. Together, they released as many as 11 studio albums and many timeless hits, the most popular of which include “Divine Buenos”, “Cicadas in the Cyclades” or “Krakow spleen”. In the meantime, she also developed as a solo artist, writing most of the lyrics for the band’s songs and creating poetry.
In 2013, doctors diagnosed the singer with ovarian cancer with metastases to the peritoneum. Later, in interviews, she admitted that she had been experiencing disturbing ailments, i.e. abdominal or spine pains, which were symptoms of cancer, as early as the late 1990s. She immediately underwent treatment, underwent several surgeries, and also took chemotherapy, as a result of which she achieved remission of the disease after three years. She even planned to enter the studio again, announced concerts and live performances. Unexpectedly, the artist’s health deteriorated drastically. She was suffering, and the doctors spread their hands, unable to help her.

died on July 28, 2018, surrounded by her closest family and friends in her beloved home in Bliżów. She was 67 at the time of her death. She was buried at the Military Cemetery in Warsaw’s Powązki Cemetery, and her funeral was secular. Initially, there was a commemorative frame for the artist, next to which a box was placed, in which fans could leave letters addressed to her. Nuts were also scattered everywhere for the squirrels walking around the cemetery. Over time, however, the family took care of the repair of the tombstone.

Currently, there is a figure of a huddled woman on it, next to which there is a black and white photo of Kora. The whole is covered with ivy. There are also two inscriptions on the disc. One is her autograph, and the other begins with the year of birth and ends with an infinity sign, which would suggest that she will live forever in her memory.
