Dimitrov expressed remorse for his actions and faces severe punishment, including the possibility of five years in prison. The case became famous when a recording appeared on one of the social networks showing a man who tried to carve the names – his and his girlfriend’s – on the historic wall of the Colosseum. Video titled “A*****e tourist carves name in Colosseum in Rome” became an Internet hit, reaching over 300,000 views. Many Internet users were outraged by this shameful act and emphasized that such thoughtlessness cannot go unpunished.

Now he was worried about the consequences of a possible trial and the possible punishment. His irresponsible act can result in a fine of up to 15,000 euros or up to five years in prison.
