Servando’s brother, together with his 14-year-old son Rodrigo and seven other members of the singer’s family, were on a speedboat to enjoy a ride in the waters of Villa Marina. This city is located in Los Taques, Falcón state, which is located in western Venezuela.

One of the first versions says that the ship was hit by a strong wave, which caused the passengers to fall into the sea. But the newspaper El Universal reported that the boat carrying Florentino, his son and his relatives collided with another boat, causing an explosion and people falling into the sea.

Rodrigo, the singer’s son, received a minor head injury, while the artist had bruises. Other injured passengers were Héctor Lugo, 39, and Andrés Lugo, 13, who suffered first-degree burns.

The person in charge of handling the ship, Luis Gerardo Gómez (45), was diagnosed with trauma, the aforementioned newspaper reported.

Around 10 a.m., Miguel David Muñoz, a 13-year-old teenager, remained missing after the accident. NTN24 reports that the young man was fortunately rescued by fishermen while he was floating in the open sea.

What do Servando and Florentino say about the accident?

A few hours after the event, the singers issued a statement through social media to inform their followers that Florentino and his son, as well as the other passengers on board, were safe.

They also expressed their gratitude to the fans for their care.

“We want to thank with all our hearts all the people who wrote to us and were concerned about Florentino’s state of health. Both he and his son and all the passengers who were on board at the time of the accident are currently in good condition,” reads part of the statement published on the artist’s Instagram profile.

In their post, along with more than two thousand comments from followers who left messages of support, they add that those were moments full of pain and difficulties, although they thank God for taking care of them.

“They were very difficult moments and full of pain, but we can only thank God for always protecting us and filling us with health to move forward,” they pointed out.
