Lydia Cacho opens the Olite Theater Festival with “La Infamia”

The play “La infamia”, by Lydia Cacho, will open the XXIV Olite Theater Festival on the stage of La Cava this Friday.
The Festival will hold its twenty-fourth edition from this Friday until August 6 with a multidisciplinary program that includes music, dance and the circus, as well as theater.
This year the incorporation of new spaces stands out, such as the San Martín de Unx municipal car park, the entrance courtyard of the Royal Palace and the Plaza de la Rueda de Olite or the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Beire, which are added to La Cava, the Palacio de Olite, Enozentrum (formerly called the Tourism Office-Wine Museum), Plaza de los Teobaldos, Plaza de Carlos III El Noble, Casa de Cultura de Olite, Old Franciscan Schools, Tafalla Kulturgunea Cultural Center and the Palace of Ezpeleta de Beire.
For the second edition, the festival has the artistic direction made up of Ane Pikaza and María Goiricelaya, who is committed to an “equal and inclusive” program with 39 functions of 22 shows, of the 13 have been created, written or directed by women and only one (“Trapu zikinak”, July 28 at the Royal Palace) is in Basque.
