Sound of Freedom: These are the similarities and differences the film has with the real story

Several countries are already talking about the success of the movie “Sound of Freedom”, which premiered in July and whose plot focuses on a case of child trafficking, a story that played not only on the big screen, but also in real life.

For “Sound of Freedom”, the creators wanted to stay true to Tim Ballard, his exploits and history, so the “villains” seen in the films are based on some criminals previously captured by the American.

As Mag points out, an example of this is the woman who kidnapped Honduran children by posing as a talent scout, who was inspired by former beauty queen Kelly Johana Suárez, who pretended to run a modeling agency to attract little ones.

The phone call that started it all

One of the key points of “Sound of Freedom” is when Tim calls his wife Katherine Ballard to ask if he should stay in Colombia to rescue trafficking victims, even though his boss’s order was to return to the United States.

In the film, we see a brave man who is ready to give anything for his ideals, who is openly supported by his partner, although he revealed in an interview with The Daily Signal that the scene was somewhat different in real life.

“I called my wife hoping she would say, ‘Go home, are you kidding me? (…) He didn’t, he didn’t, he didn’t read my script,” he said, according to CQ.
