Warner Bros. Discovery has signed a historic agreement with Netflix, thanks to which selected HBO series will be available on the competitive service’s offer. The concern decided to take such a step because the financial situation after the merger of the corporation is much weaker. The first series that appeared in the United States in the offer of a competing platform is the series “Uncertain”. After that, other HBO titles are to appear on Netflix’s offer, such as: “Six Feet Under”, “Gamers”, “The Pacific” and “Band of Brothers”.
The first HBO series will soon be available on Polish Netflix
It was immediately rumored that the agreement would also apply to European markets, but no details were known yet. Now it is certain that one of the HBO series will soon be in the Polish Netflix library. The announcement of the series “Players” starring Dwayne Johnson, which was broadcast by HBO in 2015-2019, has just appeared on the streaming giant’s website. Five seasons of this production will be available on Netflix on August 15.
“The legendary American football player Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne Johnson) ends his sports career and starts working as a mentor to active and retired athletes. This is a comedy series full of emotion and humor, which reveals the backstage lives of representatives of one of the most popular sports disciplines in America. It shows their wealth, but also the pressure they are subjected to on a daily basis” – we read in the description of the production.
Interestingly, the series will still be available in the HBO Max library and so far there has been no information that it will disappear from it in the near future. It is only known that in the United States all HBO titles that will power the Netflix library will also be available all the time on the Max platform, which is the American equivalent of HBO Max. It is quite possible that the same model of simultaneous distribution on both platforms will also apply in Poland.
