Konrad Domagała died in a shootout in Poznań. “He loved to cheer up both his professional companions and philharmonic listeners”
Domagała, who also used the name Kordian, was a long-time employee of the Łódź Philharmonic. An entry appeared on the institution’s Facebook profile:
He started working as an usher, then stage manager, worked directly with the Łódź Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, and in recent years he has been involved in the promotion and organization of events in the development and advertising department. He was a versatile person. Always smiling, kind and open, he loved to cheer up both his professional companions and philharmonic listeners. He was always helpful. He was able to relieve tension in the most nervous situations. We experienced his caring and protectiveness every day; everyone who visited the Łódź Philharmonic and had the opportunity to meet him knew it.
One of Domagała’s dreams was to organize a concert with music from computer games. We did it – in May this year, the Festival of Music from Computer Games took place at the Łódź Philharmonic. Domagała’s associates bid him farewell with the words: “His tragic departure was so unexpected that it’s hard for us to believe what happened; it’s hard to believe that we’ll never talk to Konrad again, we won’t work or joke together.”
The Łódź Philharmonic announces mourning
“We will miss Konrad immensely. However, we are aware that his family and relatives are currently experiencing the most difficult moments. We express our deepest sympathy to them,” write his associates. In the Łódź Philharmonic, a three-day national mourning was declared by employees. The statement reads:
The grief of losing Konrad will never go away, but we want to symbolically express the emotions we feel deep within us.
