While Netflix is one of the most popular streaming platforms, along with the likes of HBO, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video, the free Google TV service is becoming a tough alternative to turn down.
How Google streaming works
The smart TV platform is called Google TV and is available for all devices with the Android operating system or TVs.
Previously, Google TV was known as Google Movies. With the new offer it is possible to watch films, news and documentaries on the broad network of 800 channels.
To watch it, you’ll need to buy a Chromecast “that has this service” to enjoy this new streaming service, says Terra.
Once you have the Chromecast, you must connect it to the television via the HDMI port to configure the device and in this way you can enjoy all the content of Google TV.
Where to watch Google TV
To use the service you need internet and a Google account; in addition to defining the device where you want to use it (mobile phone, tablet, Smart TV).
On its website, Google explains that “the Google TV app is a new version of Google Play Movies,” so “if you already have automatic updates turned on, you may already have the Google TV app.”
To download, you need to open the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet; search Google Play Movies or Google TV and press “Update” or “Install”.
At this time, Google TV is only available in the United States.
