In 1984, the album “1974-1984” was released on the phonographic market, and one of its promoters was the song “Jolka, Jolka, you remember”. However, it resounded for the first time two years earlier during a concert in Warsaw’s Park.

Just before the aforementioned event, he sat down at the keyboard to create music to the words of Marek Dutkiewicz. The work on the composition was inspired by the song “Sailing” from the repertoire of Rod Stewart, “Jolka” was supposed to be its Polish equivalent. “In a way, it did. This song had to have such a pace – . Such a positive reception of the live performance was not expected by anyone, but it was only the beginning of a series of successes. The final arrangement was created a few months later and recorded in the “Giełda” studio in Poznań. For several months, the song conquered the charts, including the Radio Three, which in turn guaranteed her 8th place on the list of the greatest Polish hits of all time.
Many wondered if the story described in the text really happened or if it is only the effect of the author’s overactive imagination. It turns out, however, that nothing was a coincidence, and Marek Dutkiewicz was inspired by casual summer love. In 1982, the songwriter was on vacation in Dębki by the Polish seaside. It was then that he met a certain Jolka R., who came there with her son, while her husband Michał was working in England to earn money for a new car. A chance meeting with the artist resulted in an affair. They stumbled under the cover of the night in Karwia for almost the entire trip, but both of them had no hopes for this relationship. When the vacation ended, their contact was also broken.

After returning to the capital, Dutkiewicz started working on compiling songs for the new album. It was then that he had the idea to describe this romance in a song. To obtain the woman’s consent, he decided to contact her. The title Jolka did not mind and agreed to reveal their secrets. However, she did not expect that in this way her husband would find out about one of her many, as it later turned out, betrayals and the marriage would fall apart. – Our story was an episode, Jolka also had other more significant situations. When he came back, our relationship was long gone. The only thing left is the song, recalled the author in an interview for the book “Song for Him to Have Text” by Jan Skaradziński and Konrad Wojciechowski.
A few years later, the ex-husband of the heroine contacted Dutkiewicz. He did not hide his frustration, because he blamed the lyricist for the breakdown of the marriage. “I saw her husband, yes, when he got back from this England. He worked there on a construction site, thanks to which he developed well physically, his fists were clenched, but culture and refinement took over, he recalled.
