In the history of “Mam Talent” there is no shortage of performances that have been remembered for years. There were also bizarre situations and moments that cause surprise to this day. An example is the performance that ended with the controversial golden button. Years later, the juror admitted that he regretted it. Why?

The golden button in the “” allows the judges to enter the chosen contestant straight into the live semi-final. Any judge, and even the host, can use it if they feel that the competitor deserves it, but they can only use it a limited number of times. In 2014, the British edition of “Got Talent” presented the golden button for the first time. Such moments usually go down in the history of individual editions, but one performance was remembered by viewers “” for slightly different reasons. Romanian waiter Christian Spridon showed great self-confidence from the very first moment he stepped onto the stage. He admitted that he joined the program to realize his dream of being a star and crowds at concerts. He also stated that he came to win it. During the audition, he decided to present the song “Sexbomb” by Tom Jones. Although he was full of energy and confidence, the judges were unimpressed. The first “no” from the jurors came after 10 seconds of vocal performances, but Alesha Dixon followed suit immediately. A few moments later Amanda Holden also hit the red button, but David Walliams remained unfazed. He’s the only one having fun apart from the audience, the other judges seemed to be dying inside every second. Finally, an impatient Cowell got up and pressed the button for the dancing Walliams.

The juror was not delighted, so he decided to take advantage of the opportunity and quickly pressed the golden button. Such a situation in the history of “Got Talent” is a rarity. The gold button was used despite three negative votes from the jurors – four including Walliams’ red button activated by Simon Cowell. – Why the hell did you do that? asked Cowell. Still amused juror only said that Christian will win in “Got Talent”. And although in the end Christian Spridon’s performance ended happily, and he himself found himself in the semi-finals and gained a lot of popularity, despite not making it to the final, David Walliams later regretted his hasty decision.

David Walliams’ decision has been following him since 2014. The performance regularly goes to YouTube compilations of the strangest moments in the history of “Got Talent” around the world. A few years later, the juror himself returned with memories of this performance. – On the spur of the moment, I just pressed the gold button. I didn’t think it through, and the decision turned out to be unpopular – on BBC Radio 2. The juror admitted that it was an interesting story, and Christian Spridon himself seemed like a nice guy, but in retrospect he regrets having pressed the button. – I liked his performance, but I don’t think he fully deserved it – he assessed.
