Former soccer player Samuel Eto’o has lost the legal battle he fought with for years Erika Do Rosario Nievesa young woman from Madrid who is 24 years old today and who was legally declared her daughter in 2020.

Erika was born in 1999 in the hospital in Alarcón Foundation from Madrid. She was the result of a relationship the Cameroonian player had in 1997 with a woman named Adileusa do Rosario whom he met in a night club through a mutual friend.

When the woman got pregnant with the then player RCD Espanyolshe told him the news, but he was never interested in taking responsibility and did not recognize the girl in question, La Vanguardia revealed.

According to Adileusa’s version, the footballer first admitted his responsibility, although he made it clear that it would be better for him if they did not have a baby, implying that it would be better for him to have an abortion.

Despite Adileus’s attempts to communicate with Samuel Eto’o to report the birth of a minor, he never answered his calls, messages or emails.

Over the years, Erika found out about her origin and in 2018 she filed a lawsuit for the football player to acknowledge her paternity, and in addition, she requested a pension of around 1,400 euros per month.

During 2020 Samuel Eto’o he was declared in absentia for not responding to the proper summons for the case, and two years later the Court of First Instance Civil Number 83 of the Plaza de los Cubos in Madrid agreed with Erika Do Rosario Nieves in a lawsuit for parentage.

Fernando Osuna, Erika’s legal representative, told the EFE news agency that a satisfactory agreement had been reached for both sides, as the former footballer would not go to prison to serve the 12-month sentence, as requested.

“It was an exemplary end to a legal dispute that lasted more than six years,” the lawyer said in statements collected by Vanitatis of El Confidencial.
