A Michigan jury on Tuesday found valid a handwritten document found under the cushions on the American singer’s sofa Aretha Franklin in which he predicts the distribution of his wealth among his children, according to local press.
When the artist died in 2018 at the age of 76, there was no official will, but several handwritten documents were later found in her Detroit home, which for years pitted her four children against each other.
The newspaper, in illegible handwriting, appears to distribute their assets, such as real estate, jewelry, furs, stereos, royalties, and various vehicles, among family members.
One, from 2010, was found in a locked cabinet. Another, dated four years later, was found under a pillow.
Two of the artist’s sons, Edward and Kecalf Franklin, argued for the validity of the documents from 2014, while for Ted White Jr. the document from 2010 was the most legitimate.
Both documents show a fair distribution copyright between these three sons.

For years, the trustees of the Franklin estate paid back debts and taxes, while royalties and intellectual property royalties flowed in.
Franklin’s death in Detroit ended a successful six-decade-long career in which the queen of soul performed gospel, R&B, jazz, blues and even classical music.
