Piotr Polk was called “the most beautiful d… of PRL”. “I even think it’s quite funny”

Piotr Polk made his debut in the mid-1980s, and in 1989 he starred in a comedy with a strong sexual theme entitled “The Art of Loving”. Actor known for with “Father Mateusz” recently mentioned how he became “the most beautiful d… of PRL”.

Piotr Polk still during his studies at PWSFTviT im. Leon Schiller in Łódź, he debuted with a role in the two-episode series “Żuraw i Czapla”. Four years later, the historical production “The Chancellor”, in which he played the role of Sigismund III Vasa, and the film “The Art of Loving” premiered. And it was thanks to this last title, in which Polk played the fiancé abandoned at the altar (and the fiancée did it on the advice of the sexologist played by Piotr Machalica), that he gained such an exotic nickname.

– There was a magazine “Film and Screen” and me and Joasia Trzepiecińska played in Jacek Bromski’s film “Art of Loving”, a long time ago, still with Piotruś Machalica. And there we had this nude scene… and there was a picture in this newspaper. My. backwards. And it was written “the most beautiful d… of PRL”. And to be honest, I remember it to this day and I don’t think it was iconoclastic. I think it’s even quite funny that I used to be “the most beautiful d… of the People’s Republic of Poland,” Polk told Małgorzata Domagalik in Kanal Sportowy.

In the first half of the 1990s, the color press often wrote about Polk in connection with his marriage and divorce with Hanna Wryczy. Later, the actor married Magdalena Wołłejko. However, this relationship did not last either. Since 2015, Piotr Polk has been married to Joanna Gajewska.

“Whom I shoot in one series, I will cure in the other”

Polkowice gained great popularity in the last quarter of a century, among others the role of former priest Andrzej Zagórski in “Plebania”, Ryszard Majewski in “Life itself”, Orest Mazeikiai in “Father Mateusz” or surgeon and professor Krzysztof Florczyk in “Doctors”. – Whom I shoot in one series, I will heal in the other – he joked in one of the interviews.

In 2007, the singing actor (he has solo albums to his name) became a finalist of the second edition of the Polsat entertainment show “Jak oni sing”. His voice from a slightly different – dubbing – side is well known to fans of Harry Potter. Polk portrayed Remus Lupin.
