Exactly 22 years ago, 30-year-old Agnieszka D. invited a friend to her apartment in a block of flats in the Sienkiewicza estate. It was August 16, 2011. The women spent time together, and then the 30-year-old woman – employed as a nurse at the Bialystok Children’s Clinical Hospital – escorted her friend to the bus stop. The acquaintances parted exactly at al. Pilsudski.
Agnieszka D. set off on her way back. Less than 50 meters from her apartment building, she was attacked by a man. The attacker lunged at her and at first began choking her, wanting to gag her mouth. When she lost consciousness, he brutally raped her. The unconscious, naked woman, whom he finally stripped of his jewelry, left in the bushes. The next day, a woman from Bialystok came across her body while walking her dog.
The perpetrator was not even disturbed by the fact that there were residents of the estate near the scene of the incident
– said the press officer of the Bialystok police at that time.
Agnieszka fell into a coma that lasted several months. Unfortunately, the young woman could not be saved. The 30-year-old died in hospital on February 5, 2002. An investigation was launched into the case, but nothing was found for many years. The perpetrator of the bestial act disappeared without a trace.

The breakthrough in the case did not come until 2020 – then the circumstances of Agnieszka’s death began to be analyzed by investigators from the X-Files. – Investigators, conducting a number of additional activities while using the most modern research methods, determined the suspect of this crime – was the statement of the police in Bialystok, which quoted, among others Super Express magazine.
The whereabouts of the rapist have also been established. It turned out that it is the apartment of Bialystok, which has been hiding in Great Britain for years. near Manchester – where he lives with his wife and three children. After the Białystok prosecutor’s office issued an arrest warrant for him in the UK, the 43-year-old was brought back to Poland at the end of February 2022. In March 2022, he heard murders with rape and robbery. The court then issued a decision to pre-trial detention of the perpetrator for 3 months.
The man was sentenced to 25 years in prison, which was appealed by both the defense and the prosecution. At the end of May 2023, it was reported that the Court of Appeal in Białystok upheld the penalties, thus recognizing the appeals of both parties as groundless. The judgment is final.
