Krzysztof Daukszewicz is one of the most popular artists in Poland. Although he has been entertaining the audience to tears for years, in his private life he was not always laughing. Years ago, he had to face the loss of his beloved wife, with whom he lived for nearly 30 years.
When they met, he was married and she was engaged. They both bet everything on one card
Małgorzata Kreczmar and Krzysztof Daukszewicz met on the initiative of her brother Adam, who was not satisfied with the woman’s then-chosen politician Jan Parys. Not wanting to let his younger sister marry someone with whom you can “neither talk, nor sing, nor drink”, he decided to arrange a meeting with her. Fate would have it that Krzysztof and 4 years younger Małgorzata immediately liked each other, and even the artist did not prevent the development of their relationship. The woman quickly broke off the engagement and moved in with the new chosen one, and soon after the fruit of their love, Aleksander, appeared in the world. Although they were madly in love with each other, they did not get married until five years later, when Daukszewicz officially received a divorce. Soon after, the family was enlarged by another consolation, Grzegorz.
The family’s life changed when the satirist began to struggle with health problems. The persistent cough was initially attributed to a cold, but as the symptoms began to worsen, doctors ordered detailed tests. The diagnosis was shocking – lung cancer. Even though appropriate treatment was started immediately, the prognosis was clear from the beginning. Małgorzata Kreczmar died on October 25, 2006.
He promised his wife that he would take care of his sons. Today, he claims that everything is as he agreed with her before her death
After the death of his wife, Daukszewicz was broken. He sought solace in alcohol. “There were days when I couldn’t stand it. I locked myself in my room and drank – in one of the interviews. But he knew he had to stand up for his sons. The elder was a student at the time, while the younger was just preparing for exams for the theater school. Although their relationship had been tense before, the artist was rarely at home due to his work, so he decided to compensate for their years of absence and rise to the occasion. This resulted in a strong bond that they cultivate to this day. – I figured out that if Małgosia is sitting on a cloud somewhere watching, I don’t want her to worry. I want her to know that everything is going as we agreed – said Daukszewicz.
8 months after the death of Małgorzata Kreczmar, Daukszewicz gave an interview to one of the popular magazines. It was then that he met the journalist Violetta Ozminkowski, with whom he shared similar experiences. He was mourning the death of his wife at the time, and she was mourning her recently deceased sister. They started meeting, talking, sharing experiences, and finally something sparked. They hid their feeling until the wedding, which took place in an intimate circle in Masuria. “Most said we were getting into trouble. They thought it was too early after Małgosia’s death. . . . In their view, he consoled himself too quickly—the satirist’s third wife. Fortunately, they could count on the support of children who supported their relationship from the very beginning. Today, they all form one big family.
