Martin Stevens was born Roger Prud’homme and was from Quebec. His debut album in 1978 brought him huge success. He sang on it in French, but left the song “Love is in the Air” on the album in the original. Today the song is known all over the world.
Stevens performed it for years. This is a cover of Australian singer John Paul Young, and its authors are George Young and Harry Vanda. A year after the album’s release, “Love is in the Air” earned Stevens a Juno Award nomination for Best Selling Single. It’s the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys.
