The Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin and the Syrian painter of Swedish nationality Jwan Yosef have announced their divorce after six years of marriageas confirmed by both artists to the magazine ‘People’.
“We have both decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity to our four children and remembering what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years,” Martin and Josef said in statements to the publication.
“Our greatest wish now is continue to have a healthy family dynamic and a relationship centered on peace and friendship, in order to continue this meeting educating our children, preserving the respect and love we have for each other,” added the artists.
Martin announced on January 10, 2018, that he and Yosef had married, after two years of dating. The Puerto Rican singer announced the news in statements to the news ‘E! News’, from the US channel ‘E! Entertainment Television’. “I’m a husband, but we’re having a big party in a couple of months. I’ll let you know,” Martin said at the time.
As a couple, they had two children: Lucia, born in 2018, and Renn, who was born in 2019. Martin has two other children: the twins Matteo and Valentino, born in 2008. The Puerto Rican performer will present his “Symphonic” concert on August 26 and 27 at the José M. Agrelot Coliseum of Puerto Rico, in which he will accompany the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra for the first time in a show.
