Ferren “Coco” Lee was born in Hong Kong but grew up in the United States. She started performing on stage in 1993, but the whole world heard about her eight years later, when she recorded the song “Do You Want My Love”, which was especially liked in the USA and Asian countries.
This famous song comes from her first English-language album “Just No Other Way”, which was released in 1999. However, the greatest publicity was brought to her by the song “A Love Before Time” from the movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, which was nominated for an Oscar. In 2001, she sang it at the awards ceremony, becoming the first Chinese-American to perform at the Oscars.
Coco Lee is dead. She struggled with depression for years
The death of the singer was announced by her sisters on social media. Carol and Nancy said Coco had been suffering from depression for several years and that her condition had gotten worse over the past few months.
“Although she sought professional help and did what she could to fight her depression, unfortunately this demon won over her,” the singer’s sisters said. On Sunday, July 2, Coco Lee was found in her home. She was quickly transported to the hospital in order to save her life, and the medics decided to put the artist into a pharmacological coma. Unfortunately, the woman died on Wednesday, July 5. Her sisters paid tribute to her in an Instagram post and reminded her of her contributions to the country:

I hope that everyone will pray for this poor old lady and give us time and privacy to heal, “admitted the sisters of the late artist.

At the same time, we hope that everyone will not only miss CoCo, but also share her radiant smile, treat people sincerely and spread kindness and love to everyone around us and continue CoCo’s wish that everyone around her feel her love and happiness” – with these words they ended this farewell entry.
