It is important to ensure that daylilies have a lot of space and plant them at least half a meter apart, so that they can grow freely. The plants do not have complicated soil requirements, however fertile and well-drained soil is recommended.
What to do when daylilies do not bloom? Support them with homemade fertilizer
The last moment to fertilize daylilies is the turn of June and July. Late delivery of nutrients may prevent the plants from having time to properly prepare for winter. What fertilizer will work for daylilies? It is a good idea to use different slurry, for example from nettle. How to prepare it?
- Put 1 kg of nettles in a barrel and pour 10 liters of water (rainwater will work).
- Cover the barrel with gauze and keep it away from home, as it will emit an unpleasant odor during fermentation.
- Stir the liquid once a day, and after 2-3 weeks the fertilizer will be ready.
- Dilute the manure with water in a ratio of 1:10 and water the daylilies once every two weeks.
