The dream of two Ecuadorian musicians, lovers of stone, was born in 2011. Frank López, current singer of the band, and Oswaldo Álvarez, guitarist, died together covers musicals from stone in English. This duo started to familiarize themselves with a repertoire from the 50’s to contemporary music which motivated them to form a band.
This is how the Orate band was born. The two creators contacted Darío Bolaños, who is in charge of drums, and Juan Carlos Pozo, on bass. Suddenly the love of music led them to Ecuador and they became known for the neatness of their interpretations. The audience felt the need to sing songs in Spanish and with this they managed to reach a total of 150 songs that they could interpret.
However, they needed more, the band did not want to stay as one of the best interpreters of stone And rock pop in Ecuador. So they started to create their own songs. It was hard work, the members admit, as reproducing previous work is difficult, but finding new sounds and voices to match their songs took more effort.

The constant presentations delayed sleep more, as they matched long nights in bars and concerts. This was the routine, until the coronavirus pandemic arrived. The presentations were suspended, which was the trigger that motivated the band to devote themselves completely to creating their own songs.

Although they have made nearly 17 singles, they embark on a journey for the release of each song individually, with a focus on audiovisual production that establishes a before and after.

On June 24, Orate was the opening act of the Los Pericos concert, marking the final piece in the rendition of the songs. Now the new flight begins as makers. “We want to have our own identity, our own sound, making us sound like Orate, that is, to create textures with guitars, with bass, with drums and with you, in this way to have a more active participation, and can be identified to humans by our own material,” Bolaños said.
The band traveled to Argentina to record their singles. In addition to the production of this country, they wanted to live the experience of musical art in Buenos Aires, and “everything was worth it”, the four members unanimously assured.
