Aidan Turner recently gave an interview to The Times newspaper. He admitted that although he has been an actor for 20 years, he has not had as much fun as on the set of “Rivals”. And, quite casually, he added: “We have so much sex on our show that we need two intimacy coordinators. Two!”

In short, the series “Rivals” will focus on the conflict between two British rich – Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham. It is an adaptation of the 1988 best-selling book by Jilly Cooper, which describes the excesses and feuds between two neighbors. One is a former Olympian, parliamentarian and fierce womanizer (Black), and the other is the owner of the independent television syndicate Corinium Television (Baddingham). The main roles are played by Alex Hassel and well-known to the international audience as one of the best actors of the iconic Doctor Who, as well as such series as “Good Omens”, “Des”, “Broadchurch” or “Jesscia Jones”, David Tennant. Turner plays TV presenter Declan O’Hara.
She also talks enthusiastically about working on the set: “Every day we’re in a different big mansion and we have different garden parties there. And something happens here that sometimes actually happens with some productions. Although no one said it out loud, it’s definitely “I see a bit of the Stanislavski method here. We all come to the party. We went to Ivy’s last night, we worked late. There were lots of cocktails. I’ve never wanted to do a second season of any show so badly before.”
His hero, Declan O’Hara, is an extremely intelligent man with a very explosive personality. He inadvertently finds himself in the middle of a dispute between Black and Baddingham when the latter urges him to move from the BBC to his station Corinium TV. However, he feels cheated when Tony does not keep his word and vows revenge. In addition, the cast includes Victoria Smurfit, Bella Maclean, Catriona Chandler, Nafessa Williams, Katherine Parkinson, Oliver Chris, Danny Dyer, Lisa McGrillis, Claire Rushbrook, Luke Pasqualino, Emily Atack.
