– Failed to. The program that was supposed to help us, which we really hoped for, only hurt. After its broadcast, people stopped coming to us. Time has shown that we have to close the premises on the promenade. The decision has been made – said one of the founders of the burger shop via Radio ZET.
“Kitchen revolutions”. Controversy around the program
For 13 years, Magda Gessler has been trying to save premises threatened with closure in the “Kitchen Revolutions” program. Often it is the owners who turn to her for help. Over the years, however, the TV show has not lacked controversial situations; for some people throwing plates by Magda Gesslershouting and sharp taunts are not a sign of help at all, but a clear manifestation of humiliating the owners and the service in front of them. Despite this, the program is still popular, and the famous restaurateur travels around Poland, trying to save restaurants in financial problems. In this way, it once also reached the Lublin burger shop.
Magda Gessler was terrified of the state of the premises after the revolution
As part of “Kitchen Revolutions”, Magda Gessler also visited the “Jesz Burger” restaurant in Lublin. The restaurant was run by siblings. Two brothers, after returning from the United States, decided to invest the money they earned in a restaurant. Unfortunately, after some time, the first problems appeared. In the end, the owners decided to ask a well-known restaurateur for help.
After the 69-year-old TVN star went to Lublin, the premises underwent a metamorphosis. Gessler also proposed a new menu. Everything seemed to be going according to plan – until a few weeks later, the celebrity appeared again in the burger shop. She then stated that the meat in the burger “stands dead”and she herself must “do something not to be behind such a revolution”.

After Magda Gessler’s critical assessment, the sanitary inspectorate came to the Lublin burger shop, which decided to severely punish the owners. This was only the first blow. Fewer and fewer customers showed up over time. Expenses grew, profits fell – soon the burger shop collapsed, and the owners blamed Magda Gessler and the TV show to a large extent. According to one of the brothers, the material may have been manipulated and their restaurant shown in an unfavorable light.
– With 50 hours of recordings, you can present any restaurant in any light. Apparently, we were good material for something to finally start happening in the programwhat television is all about. We are simply sorry that it was shown this way – explained the owner of the burger house in Dziennik Zachodni.
