It is especially annoying in the summer, when many women, unable to cope with the problem, give up summer footwear, hiding their feet. However, it is often not only a visual problem, but also a source of pain and discomfort. People who have a problem with excessively calloused, dry and cracking skin on the heels often want to get rid of the problem by rubbing it excessively with a hard pumice stone. The truth is, that’s the worst thing you can do in this situation. This leads to the aggravation of the problem.

Although there are many products on store shelves that are supposed to ensure perfectly smooth heels, you don’t have to overpay. Home remedies that our mothers and grandmothers know very well will come in handy. One of them is soaking your feet in oatmeal. It is one of those food products that, due to its properties, is also often used in skin care. Oat flakes have moisturizing and anti-inflammatory effect. They soften the skin and help wounds heal faster. So how to prepare such a regenerative foot bath?

  1. Pour three cups of oatmeal into a bowl.
  2. Pour boiling water over everything and leave for 10 minutes.
  3. Then add cold water. The mixture should be pleasantly warm.
  4. Dip your feet in the bowl and soak them for 15 minutes.
  5. Finally, rinse your feet in lukewarm water, dry them thoroughly with a towel and apply cream.

Rescue cream for dry heels

In case of problems with dry and unsightly-looking heels, it is best to reach for a cream with a high content of urea. You can get it in almost every pharmacy, and its price ranges from PLN 10 to PLN 20. The cream with 30 or 50 percent urea content softens calluses, facilitates the removal of dead epidermis, giving the effect of smooth and soft skin.
