The Warner Bros. movie, Barbie, is about to be released worldwide, but has already been banned in one country.

This is Vietnam, where the film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is not being screened.

Although it was scheduled to be released on July 21, the director of the Vietnam Film Department told the Tuoi Tre website that they did not grant the license because it has “the offensive image of the nine-dash line.”

This line is used on maps over the South China Sea to represent the territorial claims it has and that Vietnam’s sovereignty is being violated.

Despite the fact that The Hague declared the imposition of the line invalid in 2016, this has not been recognized by China.

Other films have already been banned for featuring the nine-script rule, such as DreamWorks’ Abominable and Uncharted.
