There were many women and men in his life, but in interviews he emphasized that he had never loved anyone like Anselmo Feleppa. He met the Brazilian fashion designer in the early 90s during a rock concert in Rio de Janeiro. Already at the first meeting, they caught the thread of understanding and decided to continue the relationship. Their relationship was intense, they quickly began planning a life together, but their happiness was interrupted by a shocking diagnosis. It turned out that the beloved is infected with HIV. It turned their lives upside down. “It was terrifying news. I was afraid that I might be infected too. I couldn’t share it with anyone because my family didn’t know I was gay – Michael in one of the interviews. Despite many fears, the artist supported and was with him in the most difficult moments of his illness. In 1993, Anselmo suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed. Despite the efforts of doctors, the man died after several months of intensive hospitalization.

The death of his beloved left a huge mark on George Michael’s life. Initially, he sought solace in music. It was then, with Feleppo in mind, that he composed the song “Jesus to a Child”, which appeared on the album “Older” released in 1996. Even so, he still couldn’t get over the loss. For many months he struggled with a nervous breakdown and later depression. “It was a terribly depressing time. I was in mourning for three years. As I began to shake it off, my mother died. I felt crushed,” he said several years later. To forget about the deceased beloved, he met with men he met by chance. During one such date, he was arrested by the police. Fearing that any information would leak to the media, he decided to come out. Although at that time he had to face a wave of criticism, he also lost some fans, he did not regret this decision.

All attempts to soothe the pain usually ended in failure. As time passed, Michael began to use alcohol and drugs, which he quickly recovered from. The addiction was so strong that he completely lost control of his life. He has been arrested many times for possession of drugs or driving under the influence of drugs. Because of this, his career began to hit rock bottom, and to make matters worse, his private life began to be ruined as well. He parted ways with Kenny Goss and struggled with serious health issues. George Michael died on December 25, 2016 at the age of 53.
