The Pirelli calendar returns in 2022 after its suspension last year due to the pandemic with large music stars like Cher or Rita Ora photographed by photographer and singer Bryan Adams.
Its about first Canadian to take the photographs in this calendar, a commission that has been accepted by other important photographers such as the American Annie Leibovitz, the French Patrick Demarchelier and Sarah Moon or the German Peter Lindbergh. The Pirelli calendar has only been interrupted since its first publication in 1967 and in the period from 1975 to 1983.
This edition features some of the greatest talents in the world of music, photographed by Adams in Los Angeles and Capri by way of travel which brings together artists of very different nationalities, musical genres, ages and professional histories, has highlighted the tire firm.
The calendar photos were taken by Adams in two days of intense work in Los Angeles in June, where most of the cast members gathered, followed by one more day on the Italian island of Capri in late July.
Cher, Grimes, Jennifer Hudson, Normani, Rita Ora, Bohan Phoenix, Iggy Pop, St. Vincent y Kali Uchis They were photographed in Los Angeles – on the streets of the city, at the Palace Theater and at the Chateau Marmont hotel – while in Capri the photos of Saweetie were taken at the Hotel La Scalinatella.
The Canadian musician has arranged his career in rock with photography since the late 90s, and for him great figures such as Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse, Naomi Campbell and even the Queen of England, Elizabeth II, have posed.
Adams has also published several photography books such as “American Women” (2004), “Exposed” (2012) or a project on wounded British war veterans, “Wounded: The Legacy of War” (2014).
The last calendar of the tire house was that of 2020, prepared by the Italian photographer Paolo Roversi, who was inspired by Romeo and Juliet and he portrayed actresses and models such as Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart, Claire Foy, Indya Moore or Mia Goth.
