On June 12, 2023, a twelve-year-old girl made a call to . At 9 p.m. she called the 112 operator, shouted “help, help” and immediately hung up. An attempt was made to call the number the girl was calling from, but no one answered the phone. The reaction of the officers was immediate. The Rzeszów police informed that it was immediately established where the call was coming from, so the officers went to the place. There, it turned out that the twelve-year-old was with her mother at the neighbors’ house, where she was playing with an eight-year-old friend. The children decided to call 911 for fun, and when the police tried to reach the girl, she was afraid to answer the phone. There was nothing wrong with the twelve-year-old and the eight-year-old. The officers interviewed the children and their guardians about the consequences of such actions.

A similar event occurred on June 28, 2023. An eight-year-old called the Emergency Call Center asking for help. She said she got lost in the woods and didn’t know how to get home. She wanted to collect wood for the hut, but she lost her way. During the conversation with the operator, the girl finally said that she probably found her way back and would turn on the map on her phone. When she disconnected, I tried to reconnect to her, but to no avail. The eight-year-old girl did not answer the phone, so the officers went to the previously located place. There it turned out that the girl had been at home all the time. She accidentally called the emergency number and was afraid of the consequences, so she lied. This time also the officers only instructed the child about when to use the emergency number.
