The program begins with the overture the power of fate, by G. Verdithen they play a concerto for piano and orchestra No. 5 Emperor, by Beethoven and finally on stage the Symphony No. 4, by Tchaikovsky. The recital is expected to last just over an hour and a half. “It is a very strong repertoire, with a lot of energy that I think the audience will also enjoy very much (…) it is agreed that they are all romantic pieces written in the 19th century”, That is what Sabat says in an interview with this newspaper.
Striking is the bond he has had with the musicians of the Philharmonic, with whom he will play for the first time. “There are very good attitudes, they are very musical, it is an orchestra with a lot of potential”, says Sabat, who has not worked as a guest artist for a long time. “In recent years I have been playing concerts and conducting them myself from the piano… So this is a very interesting experience for me.” limits
It is the fifth time that Sabat has visited the country, he previously came to direct Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra and the Cuenca Symphony Orchestra, experiences that have enabled him to observe the efforts of local musicians. “You feel those good vibes from the musicians to bring out the results in the best possible way… I see there are young musicians, It’s a pleasure to work with them.” mentions.
The concert is tonight at 8 p.min the main hall of the Theater of the Art Center. Free entrance. This same concerto replicates the Friday 30 June at 19:30 at the Civic Center Theater.
