Cascading petunias are ideal as balcony petunias. Their cultivation is not complicated, but you need to remember about a few care treatments, thanks to which the plant will grow healthily. Surfinia feels best in sandy loam, fertile and permeable soils. It likes sunny places, but it is worth providing it with a roof that will protect it from rain. You need to water the plant regularly, because it does not like drying out. On hot days, this should be done even twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. It is best to plant it in May, thanks to which it will release its first buds a month later.

Fertilizer for surfinia. Make it yourself at home

It is very important to regularly remove faded buds, thanks to which it will be constantly stimulated to grow. Trim the ends of the shoots so that the flowers form a decorative ball. To fertilize surfinia, you can use the water that was left after cooking potatoes for dinner (provided it was not salted). It contains minerals and starch precipitated from vegetables, which enriches the earth. Or maybe you have leftover shells from boiled eggs? Crush them and mix them with the soil. You can first soak them in water overnight. They contain calcium, fluorine and zinc, making them perfect for enriching the soil with various nutrients.
