The artist confessed that at the age of 40 he has difficulty remembering the lyrics of his own hits. He also does not remember the release dates of the albums for which he was awarded. The rapper said that he sometimes wakes up in the hospital after an attack and doesn’t remember how he got there. “I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital. I don’t feel anything. I just hope it stops happening,” he said.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the artist also pointed out that the scale of his problems is really big. It’s not a matter of forgetting a few verses, but a complete black hole. “You can ask me about any of my songs and I wouldn’t even know what we’re talking about,” Wayne confessed.
Due to the rapper’s condition, he noticed that his spectacular career had lost its meaning for him. The 40-year-old noted that memory loss meant that his early albums, which his fans love so much, no longer mattered to him.
“God gave me the gift to make music, but he didn’t give me the memory to hold it all,” Wayne seeks to explain his condition. Despite the difficulties, the rapper does not end his career and continues to work on new songs.
