The Basta Foundation encourages you to continue sending to the National Broadcasting Council in connection with the TVP broadcast, in which the report from the Equality March in Zielona Góra was presented. – We have already collected almost 25,000 under the petition “Enough of Szczucia”. signatures. This is nothing more than proof of how many people want to punish TVP for their hate speech – said Bart Staszewski, president of the board of the Basta “Wirtualne Media” Foundation.
“We were compared with information about pedophiles”
On June 10, the Equality March took place in Zielona Góra under the slogan: “Let’s restore faith in love”. As expected, the material about this event quickly appeared on TVP1 and TVP Info. Much controversy was caused by the report shown in the “Wiadomości” edition. – During this broadcast, it was said that our environment “under the guise of fighting for equality” corrupts children, we are an ideology, and finally we were compared with information about pedophiles prowling on the Internet – explained the head of the Basta Foundation. It is an organization that has been monitoring media messages for over a year, trying to combat hate speech, including by seeking to punish its broadcasters.
The complaint filed by the organization reads, inter alia: “The peaceful and joyful manifestation was described as “depravity of children”, its participants were indirectly called “ideology” and “threat”, creating the impression that they are a danger to the youngest. The most reprehensible, however, is the juxtaposition of the material on the Equality March with the statistics on sexual content directed to the youngest on the Internet.
The National Broadcasting Council receives more and more complaints – anyone can send them
The materials that appeared on TVP1 and TVP Info at that time did not go unnoticed, causing a wave of negative comments on the Internet. However, it didn’t end with just writing comments. Some people decided to take action, thus the National Broadcasting Council receives more and more complaints in connection with the content presented by Telewizja Polska.
As Bart Staszewski confessed on June 22 in an interview with the “Wirtualne Media” website, 841 complaints about TVP broadcasts were received through his website. – Anyone can submit a complaint using our website. Each person can also add their own content and we know that this happens many times. This is another way to put pressure on the national regulator to put an end to the prank that TVP is famous for – he concluded.
