On the popular YouTube channel “Stop Cham”, where recordings of drivers behaving carelessly on the roads or breaking the law are uploaded, a terrifying video appeared. A white Tesla was driving along the S5 road. Apparently nothing, but when the recorder passed the car, it turned out that the driver behaved extremely irresponsibly.

She slept behind the wheel of a Tesla instead of controlling the autopilot

When the driver who recorded the situation was passing by, it turned out that the person driving it was simply sleeping. “She did not respond to any signals. Many cars in front of me and behind me overtook her in the right lane. The car braked when someone approached in front and started to 120 km / h as soon as the road was clear,” reads the description of the video. On that day, she did not inform about the accident involving Tesla, which allows us to conclude that the whole story did not have a tragic end.

Although modern cars are able to drive without the participation of the driver, this technology is not yet safe enough and causes many accidents. The driver cannot therefore completely hand over control to the on-board computer. The Tesla website states that “Autopilot, Extended Autopilot and Full Self-Driving are intended for use by a fully attentive driver who has their hands on the wheel and is ready to take control at any time. While these features are designed to over time, their capabilities grew, the currently available functionality does not ensure the autonomy of the vehicle.

Tesla accident in Wielkopolska

The video with a woman sleeping behind the wheel of a Tesla was recorded on June 21, on the S5 route between Wrocław and Poznań. A few days later, on Saturday, June 24, in this area, in Święciechowa, a white Tesla collided with a police car. However, the events are several days apart, so they are probably not related. However, we were unable to contact the press officers of the police station in Leszno by phone to confirm this.

The accident involved a police car, which, while overtaking, collided head-on with a Tesla coming from the opposite direction. Officers were on their way to another accident. The people in the Tesla were not injured, the policemen went to , but according to preliminary information, they were not seriously injured.
