Janowska got engaged to her lover, but broke it off. “Grandma’s jaw was the nail in the coffin of this love”

Alina Janowska led a life as interesting as the screenplays of the films she played in. Before she found happiness with her second husband, she experienced several heartbreaks. However, it is the story of the end of her engagement with a certain lover from Łódź that seems to be the most intriguing.

Alina Janowska died on November 13, 2017. Viewers loved her for her roles in well-known Polish series such as “Home War”, where she played Irena Kamińska or “Złotopolscy”, in which she played Eleonora Gabriel for over a thousand episodes. She created equally unforgettable creations in film works. She played in “Forbidden Songs” by Leonard Buczkowski or in the film “Dulscy”, where she faced the challenge of presenting the character of Aniela Dulska full of vices to the audience.

Alina Janowska’s life was like a movie. Colourful, stormy, but also full of competitions

Janowska’s private life was as colorful as the scripts of the films she played in. At the beginning of World War II, together with her brother and mother, she ended up in a POW camp near Olsztynek. She was saved from being deported to work in Germany. In 1942, she was arrested for collaborating with the underground and helping a Jewish family. However, this time she avoided deportation – this time to Auschwitz. The actress also took part in the Warsaw Uprising.

In 1954, she married Andrzej Borecki, but the marriage did not last even 10 years. After parting with the Polish set designer, she became involved with Wojciech Zabłocki, with whom she spent the rest of her life. However, before finding peace with the famous Olympian, she experienced many heartbreaks.

“Grandma’s jaw was the nail in our love’s coffin”

Janowska was engaged to Tadeusz Pluciński, an actor from Łódź. The creator was considered a lover and was most often cast in such roles. He was married four times and his relationships fell apart very quickly. Witold Sadowy, a columnist for “Gazeta Wyborcza”, once wrote that the actor is considered not only a seducer, but even an erotomaniac.

However, it was Janowska who left her fiancé. In the book “Jam jest Alina, or Janowska Story” by Dariusz Michalski, quoted by the se.pl portal, we read that the couple’s relationship prospered. Pluciński offered the actress a joint apartment and a wedding, but it never happened. Janowska was afraid not only of the image of her fiancé, she also did not like the fact that after the war he robbed his own grandmother. In the book, the actress mentions that he took a woman’s false teeth, pulled out her gold teeth, sold them, and squandered the money.

“This case with the grandmother’s jaw was the nail in the coffin of our love,” said Janowska. But something else spilled the scales of bitterness. Pluciński neglected his dog. “Tadzio had a puppy, he always forgot to feed him, so the dog died. Then I lost my heart to him forever,” the actress explained.
