“I have a talent”. Cowell wanted to end the casting of the 21-year-old. The audience rewarded him with a standing ovation

The performance of this participant divided the jurors of the American “Got Talent”. When the man started performing one of Kelly Clarkson’s most popular songs in an unusual way, Simon Cowell couldn’t stand it. Although the juror pressed the red button, he did not eliminate the competitor.

is one of the most popular in the world. The show has become a career pass for many talented people who today successfully make a career in show business. Some, however, have rare skills. Riccardo Pace, who appeared in one of the last episodes of the American version, certainly belongs to this group.

The judges of “Got Talent” expected an opera show. The participant surprised them

Riccardo Pace from Palermo, Sicily, appeared at the casting. It was not his debut in front of the camera, the 21-year-old had previously participated in many entertainment programs, including in the local “Got Talent”. He entered the stage in an elegant frock coat and announced that he was going to perform the song “A Moment Like This” from Kelly Clarkson’s repertoire. “It was my dream to be here,” he told the judges. Judging by his outfit, Sofia Vergara thought his interpretation would be operatic. “I think it will be a beautiful opera,” she said. What happened a moment later exceeded her wildest expectations.

The performance of the 21-year-old divided the jurors. Simon Cowell couldn’t hide his irritation

As soon as the music started playing, the man lowered the microphone to the height of his hands. The judges were surprised but carefully watched his next moves. It soon turned out that the 21-year-old would not sing, but … play on his hands. Riccardo Pace deals with manualism, i.e. the art of playing, which consists in squeezing air with your hands. Despite the audience’s enthusiasm, he did not hide his embarrassment and, as the only member of the jury, he pressed the red button after only a dozen or so seconds. After the performance, the audience gave Pace a standing ovation. Howie Mandel made the same gesture, which clearly surprised Cowell. “You flew all the way from Italy to show us this?” – disgusted. Ultimately, by the decision of the majority of jurors, the 21-year-old went to the next stage.

The recording of Riccardo Pace’s performance was published on YouTube, causing a sensation among Internet users. The video immediately swarmed with comments from delighted viewers. Many could not understand the technique that makes it possible to produce such a pure sound with just the hands.

It’s actually pure talent, it’s something that’s really hard to do

Even though the whole concept is absurd, he really did it very well! I am impressed by his ability to ‘sing’ with his hands

Great skills. You don’t need instruments when you have hands

In fact, it is more difficult than it seems.
