The heat in the country makes Poles want to sunbathe you and enjoy the charms of summer. Unfortunately, not everyone has a garden where they can put a deckchair. That is why many apartment dwellers sunbathe on balconies. It turns out that such an activity in some cases may result in a fine.

Sunny weather outside the window means that staying in a room without air conditioning is not the most pleasant and we go out to the terrace. There, many people are happy to use the sun and decide to sunbathing on the balcony – however, is it legal? Be careful, the fines are quite harsh.

Can you sunbathe on the balcony? You must remember this

The weather outside caused a rather important question to arise in the minds of many Poles, namely – is sunbathing on the balcony prohibited? It turns out not, however, certain rules must be followed. If you break them, it can reduce the contents of your wallet. Relaxing sunbathing on the balcony is perfectly possible, but you should always do so in your bathing suit, even though the balcony is generally ours or the tenants’. If someone sunbathes naked, they can be punished for it, which is described in article 140 of the Code of Offenses:

Anyone who publicly commits an indecent act shall be liable to arrest, restriction of liberty, a fine of up to PLN 1,500 or a reprimand.

Many people mistakenly see the space outside the home and therefore believe that you can do whatever you want there. It turns out that on the balcony we do not have the right, among others barbecue, party or place things on it that may pose a threat to people passing below.

Anyone who, without due care, exposes or hangs heavy objects or throws them, pours out liquids, throws away impurities or causes such objects to fall out or spills of liquids, shall be fined up to PLN 500 or punishable by a reprimand.
