Who is entitled to a periodic capital pension? Check what the benefit is
women born after 31 December 1948 and belonging to an open pension fund (OFE) are entitled to a capital pension. In addition, other conditions must also be met:
- reaching the age of 60 (reaching the retirement age for women);
- having an established right to receive a pension under the new rules;
- having a sum of funds saved on the sub-account at the Social Insurance Institution, which on the last day of the month before the month in which the woman was granted a pension under the new rules is equal to or higher than twenty times the care allowance (in 2023 it is PLN 5,128.80). If the amount is lower, the benefit will not be due.
The periodic benefit is paid from the Social Insurance Fund (FUS). They are paid together with the basic pension. The right to a periodic capital pension is due until the day preceding the day on which the woman turns 65.
Higher pension for women born in 1956. Just apply
Due to changes in OFE regulations, women who were born between March and June 1956 may apply to ZUS for recalculation of the benefit (ERPO form). ZUS will recalculate the pension of women who were OFE members and retired at the age of 60, and in 2023 they will turn 67. The application can be submitted at any selected branch. It is worth doing it, because due to indexation, pensioners may receive a benefit higher by up to several hundred zlotys.
