“Mom 4 plus” not only for seniors. Who can apply for them?
“Mama 4 plus” is the colloquial name of the supplementary parental benefit. All because it is the seniors who most often apply for them. The name is misleading, however, because additional money from the Social Insurance Institution may also be due to seniors. What conditions must be met? First of all, you must reach the retirement age, i.e. 60 years for women and 65 years for men. “Mama 4 plus” is awarded to senior women who gave birth to and brought up or brought up at least four children. The benefit may also be applied for by a senior who brought up at least four children because their mother died, abandoned children or did not participate in their care for a long time.
It is also worth remembering that the “mother 4 plus” benefit is only available to persons who live in Poland and have their “centre of vital interests” here. It is also important to have Polish citizenship or one of the European Union Member States, countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the right of permanent residence or, in the case of foreigners, legalized stay in Poland. Anyone can apply for the benefit, regardless of the previous payment of social security contributions.

Money for supplementary parental benefit is not granted automatically. This means that even if we meet all the required conditions, we must also submit an application to the Social Insurance Institution. Then we will be granted the amount of PLN 1,588.44 gross, which is valid from March 1, 2023.
