The well-known Polish singer, guitarist and composer Wojciech Gąssowski celebrates his 80th birthday on June 20, 2023. The artist has had numerous successes, and the greatest popularity was brought to him by the song “Where have you gone, those private parties”. Earlier, he also recorded the hit “Green hills over Solina” with the band Tajfuny and “Przygoda bez milą” with the group Test.

For years, he played with bands such as Polanie, Czerwono-Czarni and Chochoły, which have forever entered the history of Polish music. In a duet with Roman Hoszowski, he recorded one of the songs for the TV series “War Domowa” – “Just Come Back”. In turn, together with Kazimierz Rudzki, he realized “A song about vices and advantages. Gąssowski’s work is also known to fans of “M jak miłość”, because it was he who recorded the title track used in the series for many years.
After five decades on the stage, Gąssowski does not regret any professional decision. In one of the editions of the program “Attention!” he recalled with nostalgia his first performances and love. He seemed content with his life’s achievements, but confessed that his private life could look better.

“I wish I had a family. I don’t have children,” the singer confessed in the WP program. However, Gąssowski does not dwell on the past. “But it was over. Life somehow turned out so that if a person spends a lot of time away from home, has such an unspecified occupation, i.e. these performances, he probably does not spend so much time … I have friends who have wives and children and are happy. Apparently, I somehow did not get lucky. But I do not regret it in any special way, “he noted.
However, there was no shortage of women in Gąssowski’s life. It is easy to find information in the media that he met actress Kalina Jędrusik in the 1960s. In turn, in 1985, he was kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists together with his then-partner, Małgorzata Potocka.
