The role of Eleonora in “Złotopolskie” brought her the greatest popularity. Alina Janowska was a legend of the Polish scene, but her life was not the easiest. The war, the husband looking into the glass and the loss of the child left a huge mark on the actress.

Alina Janowska was born in 1923 in Warsaw. His father was an agricultural engineer, and his mother was an opera singer who gave up her musical career for the family. The childhood of the actress was not easy, and carefree moments were interrupted by the war.

When she was 19 years old, she was arrested and transported to Pawiak. She helped in the Warsaw Uprising

The outbreak of war changed the family’s life by 180 degrees, and the future one became involved in helping as a liaison during the Warsaw Uprising. In 1942, she was also arrested for helping a Jewish family, for which she was imprisoned in Pawiak for seven months. She was interrogated in Szucha, but eventually released, thanks to which she avoided being transported to Auschwitz. When the Warsaw Uprising collapsed, she ran away to her parents’ house in Tworki. She started her acting career only after the war, when she joined the Syrena Theater in Łódź. In later years, she was associated with theaters in the capital, and in 1946 she played in her first film, Forbidden Songs.

After the divorce, she met the love of her life. The second husband took care of her until the last moments

In 1954, she married a book cover designer, Andrzej Borecki. The marriage failed years later. – The talented man became only hardworking, then only sympathetic, until finally it turned out that our house was maintained only by me – after years about my husband. When she miscarried her first child, she could not count on a partner who increasingly turned to alcohol. Three years later, daughter Agata was born, but the birth of a child did not improve the situation in the marriage. Alina and Andrzej separated after seven years. – Our incompatibility of characters, dispositions and professional interests was almost exemplary, so the court had no doubts and decreed a divorce – the actress.

Three years later, Alina Janowska met the love of her life, Wojciech Zabłocki, an architect and fencer, with whom she was connected until his death. The couple had two children. Zabłocki took care of his wife even when she fell ill with Alzheimer’s and refused to put her beloved in a special care. “I’ve decided that as long as I can, I won’t give her up.” It would be unfair, against Olympic rules, let alone my love for her – in an interview. Alina Janowska died on November 13, 2017 at the age of 94. As long as her health allowed her, she was very socially involved. She was the president of the Association for Helping Children “Gniazdo” and was the president of the Stage Section of the Association of Polish Stage Artists
