It was the first of the two concerts of the group in our country, because after the announcement of the first, the interest was so huge that it was decided to organize the second the next day, June 14.
Full readiness in anticipation of Iron Maiden
Shortly before Iron Maiden went on stage, a Mexican wave swept through the stands, which was only a fraction of the endless energy and emotions of fans of the band eager for a musical feast. On the album, there was a real madness as standard, including numerous volunteers being carried on a wave to the very stage.
It is worth mentioning that the band started their concert punctually at 20.50, according to the schedule. The main part of the setlist during the “The Future Past Tour” were two albums – Iron Maiden’s latest album from 2021 “Senjutsu” and “Somewhere in Time” released in 1986, well received by fans. The gentlemen played five songs from each of these releases.
What was the setlist like?
- Caught Somewhere in Time
- Stranger in a Strange Land
- The Writing on the Wall
- Days of Future Past
- The Time Machine
- The Prisoner
- Death of the Celts
- Can I Play With Madness
- Heaven Can Wait
- Alexander the Great
- Fear of the Dark
- Iron Maiden
- Hell on Earth
- The Trooper
- Wasted Years
The setlist aroused enthusiasm mainly because it was a real journey through time through the decades of the band’s existence. Some of the songs on it have not been played by the Maidens for many years, such as “Caught Somewhere in Time” played for the first time since 1987!
The faithful fans had no problem recognizing each number after just a few sounds, which they showed with shouts of joy, and some in the stands got up from their seats with emotion. I also had goosebumps, even a thrill of euphoria when the band started the songs I love.
It’s not time to retire yet
Although this world is created in such a way that time cannot be stopped, Maidens unquestionably show that age is just a number. Despite approaching seventy, their energy on stage is still astonishing, and their passion for music and the joy of playing concerts are as alive as in their youth. Evidently, they haven’t thought about retiring from music yet, and they’re lucky, because vocally and musically Iron Maiden is invariably an absolute masterpiece.
There is nothing else to do but wait patiently for the next Polish concerts. UP THE IRONS!
