“Manuco arrives escaped from the hospice and tells how the life of hardship, sadness and above all desolation is that the elderly live… the character always makes that perspective that way the elderly have rights and they should be considered part of the core of the family,” he says of this kind old man who constantly encourages his old friends with music, sports or aerobics and even birthday parties. “Manuco is a guayaco who does not let boredom overcome him”, there stands that.

Manuco is a character who was left against his will in a nursing home, something Mueckay himself noticed during a visit he made to a hospice one Father’s Day, when he found himself with the loneliness and oblivion that some elderly people live with. year. “This monologue was born out of a great desire. I once went to hospice as a guest on a channel, and I swear if there were two or three elders accompanied on Father’s Day, that was a lot… When I arrived and started playing with them, to share humor, I realized that although I was making their lives happy at the time, there had to be a message for the audience and that’s when I decided to do it Who takes the dance away!”, tells.

Mueckay confirms that he comes from a large family where the elderly were cared for and respected.. “If you have an old man or woman at home, have fun with him, ask them, spend quality and beautiful time with them… go back to the stories, to the anecdotes”, to advise.

He reveals that he is preparing himself for his own old age, which he says he is not afraid of at all. “Somehow those lyrics the character says to the audience remind me that I’m not afraid of old age… What I’m afraid of is reaching an age and not being so skilled, so skilled and not having done enough, not being able to pass on all my knowledge… but it didn’t upset me either, because youOne of the things you learn in old age is knowing how to take things calmly, no longer with the desperation of when you were young.” emphatically.
