Registrations for the 62nd edition of the Salón de Julioresponsible for the Management and Cultural Promotion Directorate of the Municipality of Guayaquil, received until June 30via the website www.guayaquil.gob.ec/salondejulio.
The portal also contains the competition rules and the registration process for artists and their works.
The Council of Buenos Aires indicates that the Salón de Julio “has its prestige as one one of the most relevant and influential visual arts cultural events in Ecuadorby promoting and spreading the news of the national image tradition”.
In addition, this competition also invites artists to think about the limits of pictorial techniques and explore new ways of working with the medium.
Among the objectives of the Salón de Julio are encourage contemporary artistic production and the circulation and exhibition of artists.
$20,000 will be awardedsplit between first, second and third place.
In addition, three honorable mentions will be awarded, with the aim of guaranteeing the purchase of works of art for the city’s artistic reserve and the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil.
