Jaskier is one of the viewers’ favorites. ” Joey Batey plays this character with exceptional charm and shows exceptionally well what Andrzej Sapkowski described in the books. The wandering bard has also undergone significant changes over the first two seasons – from a playboy and a party animal he turned into a man, who joined the resistance and helps escape the hunted elves. Of course, he is still charming and witty. The creators of the Netflix series decided that the third season will bring further changes in the image and love life of the character.
Viewers mock Dandelion’s new appearance
The reports that Dandelion will get into an unusual affair in the third series, because this one is supposed to be, as Joey Batey put it in one of the conversations, sapioromantic, caused a big surprise. Later it turned out that a romantic thread would probably connect him with the figure of Prince Radovid of Redania. Some viewers, however, are definitely more concerned that Dandelion has a new hairstyle – Batey has grown hair that reaches behind his ear and now has a parting in the middle of his head.
Previously, he had short hair and the current change of image, according to some viewers, is at least unfortunate. On Twitter they write: “It’s ridiculous that in real life Joey Batey looks very young and hardly ages, and here they managed to age Jasko by about 20 years. Previously I thought it was impossible”, “Someone give razor to this man”, “Please give back Buttercup from the first series”, “Oh, that’s a very unfortunate choice of hairstyle”, “What’s with the hair?!”, “Why did they do this to him, he looks terrible”, “Why does he look like this weird?”, “Why do they want it to look so ugly?”.
The actor’s admirers are really struggling with the exchange: “What did you do to him?”, “Something is very wrong with this look, as if he failed to imitate Jared Leto”, “I’m heartbroken. A completely different man than in the first and second series – and that’s in a bad way. I hope Joey at least had fun shooting. Joey, I love you anyway.” Someone even suggested in the comments: “The person responsible for Dandelion’s transformation in season three should go to prison. He looks like an idiot now.”
Others see some positives: “It still looks better than that nasty wig from season two,” “It’s actually more like the character in the game (but still looks ugly.” One viewer, apparently oblivious to the nuances of the translations, asks: “Why do the show call Dandelion? It irritates me terribly, after all, his name is Dandelion!”.
Joey Batey, like Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan, will appear at the “Witcher Fest” in Łódź, which will take place on June 24 and 25 in EC1. Participants will see the first two episodes of the new series before the premiere, they will be able to meet the stars of the series and see what other attractions it has prepared. Netflix, in turn, will premiere the first five episodes on June 29. The rest of the season (remember – the last one in which Henry Cavill plays the main role) will appear on the platform on July 27.
