She is the smallest woman in the world. “I set myself challenges and I meet them”

Jyoti Mage is 28 years old and exactly 63 centimeters tall. The citizen of India was qualified in the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest woman in the world. Jyoti suffers from a serious congenital disease, but that doesn’t stop her from realizing her dreams.

It is worth mentioning that Jyoti Amge nearly eight years ago was the heroine of one of the episodes of the popular travel program “Woman at the End of the World”. Martyna Wojciechowska, adored by viewers, flew to India to personally meet the proudly titled Indian woman.

The 28-year-old is a very ambitious person and sets high standards in life. She wants to pursue acting. – My dream is to become an actress in Hollywood, I would like to be a star so that my name is known all over the world – said Wojciechowska in 2015. She successfully manages to fulfill these dreams. In 2014, for example, she appeared in one of the episodes of the famous American show “American Horror Story”, playing the character of Ma Petite.

She is the shortest woman in the world. “I feel popular, special and important”

Jyoti was born in Nagpur, India. Her name means “light”. “She is like a queen, like a light for our family, the city and all of India” – her parents used to say. She entered the Guinness Book of Records at the age of 18. Receiving the award, she said: “Winning this award made me feel better. I feel popular, special and important.”

Jyoti’s story is extraordinary, touching and instructive at the same time. The 28-year-old has been struggling since birth with a genetic disease called achodroplasia – causing bone development disorders and dwarfism. The woman grew up with three sisters and a brother. Until the age of five, no one suspected that she might be ill. Her development was similar to that of her peers.

At the peak of her illness, Jyoti suffered greatly from severe leg pain. She even considered having surgery, but decided against it. Convalescence after the surgery would be very hard and long, and its final outcome uncertain.

Right after she was diagnosed with this rare condition, Jyoti’s family did everything they could to make her life easier. Furniture for her room – incl. desk, chair and bed – are in miniature sizes, made to order. It’s the same with clothes.

“I set myself challenges and I meet them”

The inhabitants of the native land often perceive Jyoti as a “goddess” and turn to her with reverence. However, as her mother, Ranjana Amge, said in an interview with Martyna Wojciechowska, “the daughter does not behave like a “goddess”. – She wants to be an actress and does everything to develop her career – she noted

I set myself challenges and I just follow them

– said Jyoti in interviews for other media.
