According to February 7, 1983, people who have achieved required length of service in special conditions or of a special nature may apply for early retirement. These include, among others, work requiring high psychophysical fitness due to the safety of oneself and others, or a significant degree of nuisance, as well as teachers, journalists and soldiers who, as of December 31, 2008:
- have reached the required age (different due to age and type of work performed),
- have an appropriate seniority of the contributory and non-contributory period (20 years for women and 25 years for men),
- are not members of OFE or decide to waive funds from OFE for the benefit of state budget revenues.

People who want to receive an early retirement for work in special conditions or of a special nature must not forget that a special entry on the certificate is necessary for this. Its purpose is to confirm that the position they hold actually entitles them to receive the earlier benefit, i.e. whether:
- performed the type according to the list, section and items listed in the regulation,
- held a job position listed in the relevant list, department, position and departmental management point or resolution,
- they are able to prove the period during which they worked continuously and on a full-time basis in a given position in particular conditions.
Application for early retirement. What documents are still necessary?
If the employer did not use departmental work lists, because, for example, he ran a private company, it is enough for the position indicated by him on the certificate to be consistent with those listed in the regulation. In addition to the application, documents must be provided to ZUS that will confirm the periods of employment in special conditions or of a special nature, the periods indicated in the form (e.g. employment certificates) and the amount of remuneration received during this period.
