They have many desires, not only to shine, but also to excite other young people interested in the performing arts so that they can achieve their goals just like them. With proposals from short theatre, comedies, children’s animations and musical theatrethe new artists of the new Garza Roja School of Dramatic Art they want to show that Nobol, Daule, Lomas de Sargentilloand the other cantons adjacent to the popular cultural and recreational parkthere is a lot of talent and entertainment to discover.

About three months ago, this acting troupe was formed by about 9 interpreters, in fact from the above-mentioned settlements, among the teachers Gabriel Paredes and Peter Garcia. “It is a project that tries to incorporate living art into this park which, as the name implies, is cultural. In this park there is a lot of art, on a visual level, but Don Ramón (Sonnenholzner), who is the owner, wanted to make this proposal a bit more fun and he was thinking exactly about living art. And here we are,” he explains. Fernando Piguave, 23 years oldone of three actors who spoke to this newspaper about the turnout initiative. Your partners in this interview are Ámbar Delgado (25 years old) and Sleyter Aragundi (22 years old).

Many young people participated in the casting that was exclusively searched for talent around Garza Rojalocated in the canton Nobol. “In the beginning there were only 20 to 25 guys left. Then they made a smaller group until we were nine selected dancers, actors, singers and guitarists”, Amber recalls. The ages range from 18 to 29. There are four females and five males.

The three actors are ordinary born in Dalewhich they are very proud and especially excited about accessing this opportunity near where they were born. “To make it known that there is also talent here in the northern basin of Guayas, that they do not believe that it is only found in Guayaquil, Quito or Cuenca, but also in the smaller cantons. There are many young people who prepare every day, with theater classes and rehearsals to convey everything an artist needs to communicate on stage,” adds Ámbar, who also social communicator, with a digital program in charge, and dancer.

The young artists dedicate their mornings to this project that renews its billboard every month. “On Mondays and Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., we put together the shows that we will present over the weekend. The rest of the days we rehearse, we get lessons. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are performance days. Most theatrical works are historical or traditional themes, with comedy, and are performed in the open air,” illustrates Sleyter.

Behind these first artistic experiences there are also many dreams for these newbies. “I would like to bring art to all people who have a broken heart, to be able to rebuild it and especially to make all those people who are not happy happy,” shares Sleyter with a smile, who wants to become an integral artist who is a great dance teacher in addition to acting. “And let the name of my canton be very high, until it internationalizes”.

It is the same ambition expressed by Fernando, who complements the performance with singing. “The three of us have something in common, we carry our canton in our hearts. Studying art is quite complicated for us, because it is not an ordinary career. Therefore My goal is that all those people who love art can express it and study it… I want to convey that message to everyone who sees our work.”

Throughout the month, in commemoration of Children’s Day, a piece adapted from Beauty and the Beast. There are also shows with characters called Tiny and Tony, with contests, prizes and animations featuring characters from children’s films.
