The twenty-fourth edition of the Olite Theater Festival It will be held between July 21 and August 6 with a program where we find, in addition to -of course- theater, music, dance and circus.

In total, the festival will offer 39 performances of the 22 scheduled shows, 13 of which have been created, written or directed by women; eight of them are from Navarre companies, and one in Basque.

The artistic directors of the contest, Ane Pikaza and María Goiricelaya, have described in today’s presentation, Thursday, the programming of this edition, “which looks at all generations, all audiences and all the problems that shake our world. A parity and feminist festival that promotes equality and embraces inclusion, claiming the artistic value of difference from normality. The home of diversity and freedom”.

This year there will be 12 shows at La Cava, where all the performances will take place at 10:00 p.m.: “La infamia” by Lydia Cacho, “Woman on a treadmill on a black background”, MAX prize for the 2022 revelation show, “Perséfone” , authored and directed by Miguel Goikoetxandia, “Simulacro”, by Jon Iraizoz from Navarra, “La malpagá”, with dramaturgy and direction by Ana Maestrojuán…

In addition to the theater program, in the streets of Olite there will be dance and street theater, and performances can also be seen in San Martín de Unx, Beire, Tafalla and Olite.

The proposals selected to develop the two work residencies called for in this edition are “La Montaña –Mendia” by Mikele Urroz and Lucía Ezker and “Torcidas”, by Las nenas Theatre.
