He will play young Pawlak in the new “Sami Swoi”. Biggest challenge? “Don’t kill Kargul with an axe”

Adam Bobik’s task is not an easy one, because he plays the young Kazimierz Pawlak in the comedy “Sami swoi. Beginning” directed by Artur ¯mijewski. Importantly, the script was written by the same author as the original film trilogy and is supposed to show the viewers how the legendary dispute between Kargul and Pawlak began. The young actor praises his work with ¯mijewski and he felt the atmosphere of the story so well that when asked about the most difficult task on the set, he laughs and replies that he must remember “not to kill Kargul with an axe”.

We visited a comedy film set. The beginning”, where we had the opportunity to talk, among others, with the actor of one of the main roles, Adam Bobik. The actor plays the much younger version of Kazimierz Pawlak, portrayed with extraordinary devotion by Wacław Kowalski years ago. Bobik admits that he has watched cult films many times to catch the right melody and adds: “This will be my Pawlak.” The actor also praises the cooperation with , who this time, instead of standing as an actor in front of the camera, took over the screen adaptation of Andrzej Mularczyk’s script as a director.

The biggest challenge on the set of the new “Alone”? “Don’t kill Kargul with an axe”

– We try to stick to the script letter for letter – assures Bobik and points out that Żmijewski as a director has everything under control. He knows exactly what he wants to do. In addition, he has the ability to work out his vision with the actors in such a way that they feel safe on the set. And in the case of productions from such a cult series as “Sami swoi” the pressure is really high. What else did Adam Bobik tell us? Check out the video from the set:

The author of the script for all four films in the series, writer Andrzej Mularczyk, was inspired by the stories of his uncle, Jan Mularczyk – he was one of those people who left their homes in Kresy after the war, which is now part of Ukraine. It is he who is the prototype of the character of Kazimierz Pawlak, whom viewers know so well from the trilogy “Sami swoi”, “There are no strong ones” and “Love or throw”. Jan Mularczyk settled in Tymowa near Lubin – in Lower Silesia. “He had a rich life story behind him, and he was a great storyteller. I listened to his life stories for several weeks and wrote them down in notebooks that I have kept to this day. There was drama, melancholy, and humor in these stories, recalls Andrzej Mularczyk.

Tomasz Kubski, the producer of the film, explains: – Everyone asks us two questions alternately: “Why?”, “What for?”. The answer is trivially simple: this is the beginning of the whole story and it was supposed to be the first part of the cult series, but in the late 1960s, for political reasons, no one would allow the production of a film that shows the brotherly Soviet nation in a negative, slightly mocking way. In fact, the trilogy without the part we are currently producing is incomplete, poorer for the world in which Pawlak fell in love for the first time, had his heart broken for the first time, fought for his first time.

The main roles are played by Adam Bobik and Karol Dziuba, and besides, the cast includes m.in. Paulina Gałązka, Weronika Humaj, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Katarzyna Krzanowska, Mirosław Baka, Wojtek Malajkat, Anna Dymna, Janusz Chabior and Adam Ferency.
