She lived alone in a trailer 13 years ago and struggled financially after she and her husband lost everything they owned in Hurricane Katrina. Grimm then performed in Las Vegas in – as he said – every place he could, to help grandma with even the smallest amounts.

In the finale, he performed “When a Man Loves a Woman”, showing his then-girlfriend, today his wife, who also sometimes accompanied him to concerts on stage.
